Sophia Bryter

Sophia Bryter is a twenty-one-year-old singer-songwriter and musician from Baltimore, Maryland, whose music blends deep emotional catharsis with striking, sophisticated arrangements. A recent graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Sophia’s artistic journey took a definitive leap forward during her time at Stages Music Arts, where joining her first audition-based band ignited her passion for fronting her own project. Gathering an exceptional lineup of musicians—including guitarist Morgan Gonce, bassist Oliver Unger, and drummer Andrew Young —Sophia formed her eponymous band to record her debut album of original music, moonchild. The deeply collaborative and transformative process of creating the record forged bonds that remain at the heart of her sonic identity today. Available on all streaming platforms and CD, moonchild introduced listeners to Sophia’s vulnerability and sharp melodic instincts. Sophia's rapidly growing list of accolades highlights her status as an industry standout. In 2023, she was named a National YoungArts Finalist in the Singer/Songwriter category. This honor brought her to National YoungArts Week in Miami, where she immersed herself in mentorship from industry veterans and collaborated with the country's top young talent. Her performance caught the attention of television network executives, leading to her being scouted for American Idol in 2024. Most recently, Sophia signed with Berklee’s student-run label, Revelation Records, to release her latest single, “Beauty Is Pain.”
